The Brightening Smoothie

This sweet and green smoothie is delicious and comes with super nourishing ingredients: greens to bring cleansing chlorophyll and microbiome-loving fiber; organic fruits and berries to hydrate the body at the cellular level.

Mango brings nice sweet and fresh taste, and is an excellent source of vitamin A and C, and high in fibre. Always remember to use ripe fruits only. Unripe fruit is acid-forming in the body and hard to digest. You want to focus on the feel of the mango and not necessarily the colour because mangoes come in different colours. The fruit should feel slightly soft when you gently squeeze it. Unripe mangoes are sour in taste. To speed up the ripening process store your fruits in a brown paper bag on the counter for two days. And the same goes with bananas: they should have black spots. I added antioxidant-rich berries to the mix to bring some extra twist. I used blueberries and raspberries.

Use organic ingredients whenever possible to avoid pesticides and all other toxins. Also, organic produce tend to have higher nutrient content. If you don’t happen to have fresh and ripe produce, frozen fruits and berries are absolutely fine too!  Feel free to modify this recipe according to your flavour profile and needs.

Please remember not to gulp your smoothie down! Our digestion starts in the mouth. Take a mouthful at a time and let it mix in your mouth with saliva.
